If you want to know what virtual high schools are, then read this article. Specifically, I will give you a guide to what exactly constitutes a virtual high school. Also, I will provide you with information, to help you determine if a virtual high school is right for you.
A virtual high school offers you the ability to earn an actual high school diploma, by taking high school classes online. They are quickly replacing the GED option, and rising in popularity for becoming the number one way to go back and earn your high school education. And keep in mind, you’re actually earning a real high school degree, and not an equivalent.
Virtual high schools combine the benefits of distance learning with the interactivity of an actual classroom. In the past, distance learning was done by taking correspondence classes, usually completed by the mail. The problem with this was there was a lot of postage involved, and you could not interact with other classmates.
With virtual high schools, you can get your assignments instantaneously on the Internet, and complete them and post them in the appropriate sections on your virtual high school’s website. In addition, you have the ability to give and receive feedback from other classmates, which is a great resource being provided by many different virtual high schools out there.
A virtual high school offers the opportunity to take as many or as few classes as a schedule permits. If your situation requires earning your diploma right away, then you can take a lot of classes, and complete them quickly, in order to get your diploma. At the same time, if you have a family, as well as a full-time job, then you can go at a slower pace to earn your high school diploma.
If your self motivated, virtual high schools will be beneficial for you, as long as you can work on assignments in isolation in front of your computer. You might consider getting a GED, if you need a rigid classroom environment, or the actual presence of an instructor.
To sum it up, I’ve answered the question on what they virtual high school is. I’ve provided benefits of going to a virtual high school, and offered suggestions for who is best suited for it. This information can be used to determine if a virtual high school is appropriate for you.

There is a chance that Wikiversity will become the Internet’s free university just as Wikipedia is the free encyclopedia on the Internet. The building of an educational entity demands considering a number of philosophical and practical questions such as pedagogy and organization. In this paper we will address some of these, starting by introducing several earlier approaches and ideas related to wikis’ potential for education. We continue by presenting three commonly used metaphors of learning: acquisition, participation and knowledge creation. Then we will present the main principles of two existing alternative educational approaches: free adult education and free school movement.
writing a paper about you for a school of education class about young adult lit, insights on why you should be read in schools?
You could also ask at your local school. Although they are children not adults, they have to deal with the same problems. My local school has a SENCO who deals with children with disabilities. There should be one at your local primary or senior school who may be able to give you some more pointers - after all, they must go to outside agencies for help at times!
Of course, you could also try organisations set up to help people with disabilities and other problems
Good luck with your assignment.
Oh, and if you find any of the answers useful, please do not forget to include Yahoo! in your sources!!!! If nothing else, it shows initiative!
Pls clarify: how did the univ. student get into university without graduating from high school? Shouldn't have been possible.
In any event, no, I don't think that they wasted their life in a university, provided that it was a top-notch place (or even medium-level). At such a place, they'd have broadened their vision and intellectual horizons to worlds they may have never seen before. They'd have learned how to question, analylze, and maybe lead. They'd have met lots of people, and broadened their network.
Hopefully, they'd have learned the love of learning, to provide a solid foundation for lifetime learning.

I think adult education can refer to remedial (high school level) courses, for example to get a GED, while community development is more of just courses for personal interest. If you can wait until Monday, look up local community colleges and then call the admissions office of one and ask.
Off to a meeting about the merits of eLearning systems in Adult Education courses. Need a snazzy term between ‘Success’ and ‘Dismal Failure’
My son is 9yrs old; currently in a “mainstream” classroom and has diagnosis of severe ADHD, Asperger’s, mild OCD, and ODD. They have removed him from the special education program, does not currently have an IEP in place and now are saying that due to testing scores, he is not eligible for any type of ’special/lab’ services. He has an attention span problem, has to be reminded of what to bring home daily, uses poor choices when not supervised by an adult. What can I do get him an IEP back in place? What are my rightsf?
Yes, Northern Virginia Community Collage has all sorts of stuff, they have a campus off 395 and Sherlington road.
President Obama has nominated Martha Kanter, chancellor of the Foothill-De Anza Community College District in Santa Clara County, as undersecretary of education. If confirmed, Kanter would oversee the nation’s postsecondary education policy, as well as federal student aid, adult education and vocational education. … She would also like to see colleges share noncopyrighted books and course materials on the Internet, similar to the “community college open textbook project” signed into California law last September.
So, let me get this straight: you’re saying that Obama’s attempts to cleanup and investments in our financial, education, and medical infrustructures, both for immediate sustainability as well as future sustainability is irresponsible. We shouldn’t be doing both at the same time? Er, your missing the key point David. What’s the value of keeping the car running when you’re just heading over a cliff? We have already lost decades to the minimalist approach to government, one that exacerbates the risks inherent in our experiment with unguided free-markets dependent on people buying more than they need and politics guided by elections cycles and corporate interests. We have endlessly deferred investments in our future for every conceivable reason. We never seemed to have the money for taking care of the starving, sick, uneducated and homeless among us. We grew used to our citizens living in fear of illness, job loss and failing children. We never had the money to raise teacher’s salaries and fix our bridges and levees and roads to minimize accidents and commutes that shave years off our lives through stress, depression, pollution and lost producitivty. We could never afford to do so many things that would increase our ability to defeat poverty and build a more positive future for our children. But we DID have the money to "promote democracy" in far-away countries and bomb the heck out of them! We seemed to find plenty of cash to bribe warlords and dictators and militias to do what elected officials deem "necessary", and when these two-timers don’t come through, we give them more! We found plenty of money to fund right-wing religious groups and could even afford to give tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans. who were so frustrated that their financial scorecards were impacted by the needs of the lazy miscreant little people…You have some nerve to say that Obama is putting off tough decisions! You represent the biggest hippocrite class of them all. It is YOU who are the "liberal"–you who says "let’s not have some caring, thoughtful and moral intervention". Lez-Affair! Less Government is Good Goverment! Let the rich do what they want! What’s good for GM is Good for America! Like I see where that led, Dave. You know, we finally seem to have a morally-grounded, far-thinking adult in charge, and you are whining that he should chill-out and just re-arrange the deck-chairs on the Titanic. You are part of the problem, dude.
